My question involves business law in the state of: New Jersey
Hello everyone, this is my first post in the Expert Law Forum. It's a pleasure to be here. I bring you with a question about a recent business dispute that I have encountered. I am the owner of a landscaping business based in New Jersey, and a large client of mine has recently neglected to pay his invoices in full. The fee that is due equates to approximately $18,000, and the client has tried to persuade me into signing a document that will only grant myself $700. However, the client stated that the $700 he wanted to give me would equal full payment. That is clearly not the case, because the client owes me the entire $18,000, not a mere $700. All proper invoices are documented and accounted for. Any thought on what actions I can take to settle the matter? Thank you.
