My question involves child support in the State of: Oklahoma. My ex has not been in my children's lives for about 8 years. He has not made any attempt to be in his kids. Last place of residence is unknown. He is approx $50,000 in arrears on child support. Last support was received over 3 years ago. About $250.00. My current husband is wanting to adopt my children. He has provided for them, loved them and has been their dad in every way.
So my question is will the arrears child support be terminated also when the children are adopted and their birth fathers parental rights are removed. ? Will there be no right to collect this if my 17 yr old son wishes to pursue? Not that I have had any luck collecting but it is my children's money to do as they please. Either way my husband is adopting my children.
