My question involves education law in the State of: IN
My school is sending students(including me) to a region-wide school convention, and it may be mandatory.
Hello, I'm a middle school. I as well as others was chosen to participate in my school's science fair. Afterwards, I was invited to a region wide science and engineering fair apart of a school system that my school is apart of. I was given a release to give to my parents to sign to be apart of the event. I decided I did not want to participate as I feel that it is a waste of my time and I have already received my final grade for the original assignment. In NO way would I benefit academically if I were to attend. However, on the off-chance and possibility of being forced to attend the event, is it legal? I've read the student hand book issued by my school and it did not mention anything about the matter.
