My question involves labor and employment law for the state of: Illinois
I'm a 21 year old who received a class C misdemeanor (possession of cannabis less than 2.5g) back in 2011 when I was 18. I paid the ticket off right away and haven't thought much about it since. I didn't have a court date or anything. I was wondering if this class C misdemeanor will show up on an employee background check in Illinois? If so, what are the steps to getting it removed off my record? How long does it usually take and who should I work with to accomplish this?
Also, I received an underage drinking ticket when I was 17. I was wondering if this will show up on a background check as well?
