Estate Assets and Debts: Executor Wishes to Purchase Property

lundi 2 février 2015

My question involves estate proceedings in the state of:

Hello, I have half ownership in farm inherited decades ago. Other owner recently deceased. That owner has several heirs. Those heirs have hired attorney. One of those executors wishes to purchase entire farm. Their attorney has gotten 2 appraisals; appraisals haven't been shared w/ me. Timing of the sale influences price. Do I need to wait until those heirs settle things before asking the farm be put on the market? Should I hire my own attorney and get my own appraisals, or wait and see what their offer is? Is it inappropriate for their attorney to let me know the timeline they expect for selling the farm (I would like to write and ask)? Thank you
