My question involves a traffic citation from the state of: California
There is a private parking lot with about 250 spaces serving approx. 25 businesses (markets, restaurants, FedEx Ofc, etc. that has been open, and free, for 20+years. Now each space has a digital parking meter with high hourly rates and the threat of $25 "fine" and/or towing per "22658c" of the C.V.C. Can such a fine be imposed? I looked at the cited C.V.C. and cannot find anything that seems to correspond to the subsection that is shown on the meter. Is there an applicable 22658c? Can they tow my vehicle if not paid and I am in a store shopping? If I pay and overstay the two hour limit (the max capability of the meter)?
