My question involves a consumer law issue in the State of: AZ
Wife and I bought a new car on Valentine's Day from a dealership. Noticed the check engine light was on, the dealership assured us it was just because the gas cap was left open and wrote in our contract that they were responsible for fixing it on their dime, told us to bring it in on Monday and it'd be fixed that day. We brought it in, got it back Tuesday morning. The check engine light came back before even getting it home. Took it to Autozone, same codes as before. Took it back to the dealership, they kept it until Saturday and assured us they had fixed it this time. Went to pick it up, sure enough light came on before getting it home. Autozone said same codes as before. Took it straight back to them, now we have to wait for them to get it looked at on Monday. This car has spent more time in the shop then it has at home. We tried asking the dealer about other options if they can't fix the problem, and they were very short and rude. The guy said, "The car is fine, it doesn't really effect anything, we'll look at it Monday and get it fixed and go from there." Legally, what are our options here if they don't take care of this? Does it fall within the lemon law? Do we have any protection since they wrote in the contract that they would fix it? Is there any way to either get another car or get our money back?
