My question involves child support in the State of: California | My situation is a bit involved, but I'll try to be consise:
When my ex came off of active duty, he was (is) still in the Reserves but unemployed as a civilian. We filed a stipulation to "hold" CS until he became employed full-time; our sons were essentially living with me full-time with occasional visits with their father. My ex went back on active duty and we "agreed" on the revised amount of CS he would pay based on his new employment situation. (He was posted in North Carolina.) When he was released early from his assignment, he came to California essentially to visit his children but (I found out) was going to go to grad school in New York. He did not pay CS for the period covering his last 1/2 month of his assignment because otherwise he wouldn't have been able to travel to California. This was Nov'13. He has yet to pay me any of that last amount despite promising to make monthly installments until it is paid off.
My ex has also refused to pay any medical/dental expenses. He claims our sons have military medical coverage despite my having no evidence of this. I told him the last notification of coverage I received was for termination, not continuation. He says I have to request reimbursement for his 1/2 of the expenses through military insurance; I told him that doesn't work because I've been denied several times before when he told me to go this route. (I was also in the military; unfortunately I have to say that dealing with the system as a civilian does not work.)
Any advice on how to proceed? Do I even have a leg to stand on at this point?
Thanks in advance!
