My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: California
Received a ticket for speeding (CVC 22349B) while traveling west bound on Hwy 50 near South Lake Tahoe (El Dorado County). The officer, at time of issuance, noted the court appearance date of Sept 16, 2014 (today) on the ticket. After repeated contact with the court (to pay the fine / request traffic school), the court indicated it has not received the ticket. I intended to pay the fine and request traffic school although am not able to due to the "missing" ticket.
My question...... Do I have any options to challenge the existence of the ticket, i.e. perhaps plead not guilty through a trial of written declaration stating the ticket is not on record, does not exist, other? The ticket notes that trial by written declaration must be postmarked 5 days prior to appearance date.
Appreciate any feedback.
