My question involves child support in the State of: Florida
Im not sure if this question has been asked, and I apologize if it was.. My SO has an 8 year old with his ex girlfriend. They settled on visitation and CS on their own, never went to court. His ex girlfriend is now pregnant and plans to quit her job and be a stay at home. Im not sure how much her husband makes, but I heard he doesn't make great money. My SO pays her $200 a month for health insurance, pays for school activities, & other things when needed. He's a great dad, however he's worried that once she quits her job she's going to think she needs more money for their son. My SO makes decent money, has a mortgage, light bill etc so he can't afford to pay her much more then he gives her monthly. His fear is that she will take him to court to get more money and he will have to pay 8 yrs of back child support. Could that REALLY happen even though they settled it on their own for the first 8 years? Thank you!
