My question involves a traffic accident in the State of: California, Los Angeles County
Well first off good afternoon guys. I think I know I am not at fault here, but I want to be prepared when the other parties insurance company calls me, so I am going to explain to you guys what happened, please feel free to ask any questions (regarding the topic).
I just turned right out of a drive, into the number 3 lane, look around I notice a SUV going into the turn lane that feeds a freeway going north, the SUV is traveling a bit slower than normal, I complete my turn, signal and get over to the number 2 lane, look behind me, check my mirrors, notice the SUV again, click my left turn signal and switch over to number 1 lane, which is next to the turn lane, I pass the SUV and bump. The side of my car is hit, behind the passenger door on the drivers side, and above the wheel well. I curse...slow down the car, put it in park, put my hazards on, and get out of the car. I look at the damage, put my hand on my head and then notice its the same SUV I was kind of wary about, I go over to the lady driving and ask if she is okay, and if she needs medical attention, she says I am fine, and I state since there are no injuries, we should move over to the side of the road or pull into the gas station and exchange information, she says I am not leaving the scene and am calling the cops, I said that's fine, I go back to my car, take picture of the angle, both cars, a wide view shot of it, and close ups of my damage and hers, a sheriff community service officer rolls up, and tells us when it is safe, move to the gas station, so that's what I did. Fire department comes up, asks if ay injuries, both of us answer no, they leave, the deputies come, ask me what happened , I tell them, and show them my pictures, they said thanks and walked WITH my phone to the lady and point it out to her and then they complete the report. She is listed as Party 1 I am Party 2.
Now, in my opinion, I made safe judgements, and was passing her and she came out of the left turn lane into my lane and bumped into my car. She claims I went into her lane and hit her, the pictures show her car out of the left turn lane, we had both rolled a bit after wards...
