My question involves estate proceedings in the state of: Texas
My mother had passed away back in December of 2011. Although I have other siblings who were beneficiaries I was technically the primary one because I was the only child that my mother had as my siblings had different mothers. Because I was 19 when my mom died my older brother was deemed executor over my mother's trust and will and estate so he was responsible for releasing the assets left to us. A couple of years ago he mentioned that my mom had left an education fund through Texas Tomorrow for college for me back from when I was a child. Because my mom never put anyone down to take over the education funds it's pretty much left to my brother since he is the executor. However, I have had trouble getting in touch with him because he moved and changed his number since I last spoke to him a few years back. Are there any other ways to obtain the education fund if I'm not able to reach my brother or is it pretty much left to him even though it was meant for me?
