My question involves landlord-tenant law in the State of: MD
my buddy has been having issues trying to find a room share on the MD craigslist, he wanted me to find out if renters rights will apply to those "rooms for rent" places, most of these places are cash transactions with no lease or anything like that, for 400 a month with everything included, and he was wondering if they need to go though the proper eviction processes etc as if you were renting a regular apartment or house, about the only paper work that might get would be a hand written receipt for a month of rent.
I told him that I was pretty sure that he would be covered under those renters rights laws, but just wanted to make sure.
thanks guys
