My question involves a consumer law issue in the State of: Hawaii
About 2 years ago I bought a motorcycle for a friend from a business and was waiting for them to send me the ownership paperwork when out of no where they closed the store with no explanation or alternative way for customers to contact them. The friend I bought the bike for had the bike but was unable to register it. Eventually I guess I sort of forgot about it. But now come to find out my friend stupidly drove the bike without a license plate and got pulled over. I have been to the DMV twice already. They say there is a lien on the bike and Im not sure who I need to speak to or what I should do next. I have the papers showing that I did in fact pay for it.
