My question involves collection proceedings in the State of: New York.I signed the settlement agreement with a major corporation over 2 months ago.I know that Florida where I live has a stat 627.4265 that reads if a signed release isn't paid within 20 days I'm entitled to 12% till its paid.This suit was filed in New York.My lawyer keeps saying they haven't received the check yet.What are the laws in New York ? I'm starting to get the feeling that something just isn't right.Any help would be great.
