My question involves a consumer law issue in the State of: California
First off...Thanks for taking the time to read my thread. I live in Washington state but purchased a vehicle online via "AutoTrader" in California. Spoke multiple times with the owner of the dealership and decided to purchase feeling comfortable about the car sight unseen. Paid for vehicle transport and vehicle arrived as described, and was very happy with purchase. Got a bill of sale from dealer via mail and said title will be a few weeks before the send it out. bought the car mid November, dealership had gone out of business before the sent me the title. Filed a complaint with the California DMV investigation dept and said I can try to sue the dealers Bond company,(and referenced California Vehicle code 5753) or the flooring company that holds the title (I did call the flooring company and ask for title, however they do indeed hold title but because they haven't been paid said they would not send it to me) . My question is that being in Washington state, and the dealers bond company appears to be in Georgia, The Flooring company back East, and I purchased the car from the dealership in San Diego....who or where do I start to file a civil case? do I find a lawyer in California or the state the bond company is located?...if so do I need to fly down to the state also? :wallbang: any help and advice is greatly appreciated.
