My question involves criminal records for the state of:
As a teenager, I was charged with "unlawful holding of property" and was charged with a misdemeanor. After a year and completing my probation, it was expunged. I am in my mid 20's now, so it was a while ago. I am applying for a new job, and the application asks for any past felony or misdemeanor convictions. Am I obligated to put it on the application since the incident was expunged from my record?
I don't want them to hold this against me, but then again I don't want to ruin things because they think I am hiding it from them (in case they find it in a background check).
I appreciate any information.
