My question involves estate proceedings in the state of: FL
I have long been estranged from my older brothers and parents, nearly twenty five years. My father passed about a week ago and, to my utter shock, I am included in the estate, with estate to be divided between us brothers. My brothers have reacted by trying to have me removed from the will based on 1) the long estrangement and 2) my mother expressly disinherited me from her will. (When she died, everything passed to my father.) Can my brothers have me removed? Can I simply bow out from inheriting anyway? How do I decline?
