Relocation: Non Custodial Parent Wants to Move Out of State

jeudi 5 février 2015

My question involves a child custody case from the State of: Illinois

My husband has a son from a previous marriage. My husband has visitation on Fridays and Sundays one weekend and the following will be visitation overnight at our home pick up friday and drop off Sunday. Every single weekend there is some visitation. My husbands son is 15. My husband and I have also our own 2 boys and would like to move out of state due to a job offer. Do we have to get permission from the courts to move? Is it considered abandonment if my husband and I move? My husband understands still paying child support and other responsibilities. The only thing that would change is visitation. We are trying to cover our bases and do stuff by the book because my husbands ex wife has put my husband through the ringer.
