Speeding Tickets: Speed Ticket in School Zone. How Can I Fight This

mardi 17 février 2015

My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: Texas.

I am a college student, and was driving to class. I was pulled over, and ticketed at 8:19 am for going (he radar me and was sitting at a light waiting for someone) 34mph in a 20mph "school zone"

The regular speed when not in a school zone is 35mph...

My question is how can I get out of this? The school is in a parking lot with a jack in the box. I had no idea it was there. There is no flashing lights for this area. In my area just down the road the school flashing lights turn off at 8:00am. It was an honest mistake. I have never seen any kids ever walking in the area at all.

I called the schools that are in that area, and they said the tardy bell rings at 8:05 or for the other school they said 8:15. So, there should be no kids when I was driving at that time.

However, the sign states from 7-9am (which I have never heard or seen before) But, the school in the area said everyone is in class way before then.

Is there anyway I can fight this? I don't want this on my record. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time. :)

The school is the one with the green roof.. I though it was a shopping center..

Also, He put the address as something other than where he radar me and where I pulled over. Do this matter?
