Cosigners: I Cosigned for My Own Car, and the Primary Borrower is Suing Me

My question involves an auto loan or repossession in the State of: Kentucky

I'm not sure if this is on the right board, but my question is a little bit complicated. 9 months ago, I went to buy a car. My boyfriend at the time came with me. The dealer told me that I couldn't get a decent interest rate on my own because my credit was underdeveloped. Without my asking, my boyfriend offered to cosign for me. When we got down to the paperwork, the dealer told us that it would be better if he signed as the primary borrower, and I as the cosigner. The title for the car is an "OR" title, if that matters. My boyfriend and I broke up about two months after the purchase. I was making payments, but I recently lost my job and just found a new one, so I missed a payment. My boyfriend made two thirds ($200) of the payment when it approached 30 days past due, and is now suing me in a small claims court for that amount. Am I legally required to pay that amount, or is there a case I can make against his claim?
