My question involves criminal law for the state of: Virginia and Indiana..... First off I'm 19 years old, I live in Indiana, lived there my whole life, my mother who I've only met a handful of times resides in Virginia. I visited her in this past May, and I broke the law and got a felony there. I went back home to Indiana and the arsenal charge came back to me, so Virginia had me expedited from Indiana, I got bailed out and now my court date is September 24th. I fully cooperated with everything and I've been stuck here in VA since June.. Now my my question is, if I do get probation, like my attorney and the detective doing my case are saying, can I get the probation transferred to Indiana since that's where I live? I really want to go back home to my fiancé and family, I barely know my mom and I'm scared I'm going to have to serve my full probation here. Can someone please help me?? (This is also my first offense.) Thanks!
