My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: Michigan
Hello, I was given a ticket the other night for failing to yield at a private drive or alley. It was around 2:00am when I approached the end of the drive and saw no traffic coming from either direction. At the time, I was going about 5 miles an hour, with no stop sign in front of me. I proceeded turning right and was then pulled over by the officer who I guess was across the street. Wanted to make sure this was a reason for a ticket or not, I'm not really sure. The ticket is 2 points plus $120 fine. Any advice on what I should do would be great, thanks.
My understanding of a yield would be if no traffic is coming your direction or the other direction, you are clear to continue to turn. But I am not sure if this is incorrect or not.
