My question involves real estate located in the State of: Washington State
I put in an offer that was accepted on a property that was owned by Fannie Mae. The offer was accepted in 2 days and after 4 weeks waiting for the official offer letter they sent me the offer letter and I signed it.
I put down $1000 earnest money with there escrow company ServiceLink in Anaheim, CA. In the acceptance they gave me 8 days to perform an inspection, which I did on the 7th day. Everything looked like a go then on the 8th day Fannie Mae tells the listing agent that "they do not own the title" and to cancel the contract.
1.) I had already spent $560 on inspections.
2.) Since school was about to start I enrolled my 10 year old near the new home.
What is my legal recourse for damages that include money I spent and the fact that I've been seriously impacted by Fannie Mae listing a house for sale that they essentially never owned.
Thanks for your time.
