My question involves juvenile law in the State of: Nebraska
The age of majority in my state is 19 & I am attending college in state.
Earlier, my mom and I were arguing about college and she told me that she would have full authority to talk to my professors & about my grades. I never signed the FERPA release at orientation authorizing my educational records to be released to any third-party, however she insists that since I'm below the age of majority in my state (18) she has full rights to my records. This is false since it's not a state regulated thing but a federal policy, correct?
I'm doing my work and everything, I think she's just on a power trip.
