My question involves an injury that occurred in the state of: Florida
i got into a car accident when someone ran a red light, i broke both bones in my leg and had to have two metal plates put in my leg. i was so overwhelmed with everything that was going on and in a panic i called 411 Pain, a lawyer referral service/clinic, and they connected me with an attorney who i signed with two days ago.The agreement pretty much said that they would represent me as long i fullfilled all my therapy(frm the 411 clinic) until the clinic doctor releases me from his care, and it also stated that in able to recieve the maximum settlement that i would have to wait until i was completely done with therapy for them to even make an offer or move forward with the case. All this makes some sense to me but my problem is that this clinic seems a little shady to me. They want me to go 3 times a weeks for atleast 8 weeks or more depending on the evaluation frm the doctor. My back and neck are definitely sore from the accident but no real damage....my leg is obviously what took the brunt on injury. Also, i have a nurse through the hospital who will whobe coming to my house to do do physical therapy for my leg. that being said it is incredibly difficult for me to get around especially 3 times a week just to therapy for a little soreness in my neck and back And to add detail to my situation, the car is insured by my father in law, the other driver of the vehicle did not have a license but she is not the actual owner of the vehicle. according to the representative frm the attorneys office, we still do not know who owns the vehicle and therefore do not know whether they have insurance or not. My father in laws insurance policy is pretty minimal so my real concern is that all these unnecessary visits to the clinic are going to rack up one big bill and ill get screwed in the end with a settlement. because all the money will be going to the clinic and the attorney. Are these people taking me for a ride ? I mean i know the attorney gets a cut when i go to the clinic. Can i change my mind now even if i signed a contract with them? i am a 21 year old with a 8 month old and i know nothing about insurance or Florida law...i cant afford to be taking advantage of and im very worried.
