My question involves criminal law for the state of: Texas
I have a couple of rent houses here in east Texas. Back in June of this year, I evicted one of tenants for not paying the rent. I decided to move into that particular house in August. Tonight, it was shortly after 10 PM, several sheriff vehicles pulled up in my driveway and banged on the door. I opened the door and one of the cops said they are looking for my former tenant, the same one I had evicted back in June. Come to find out, while he was renting from me, he was placed on probation and then when I evicted him, he stopped going to his probation appointments, so they revoked his probation and issued a warrant and my address is his last known address. My husband is very upset because we have to babies who were asleep and woke up during this whole ordeal and were scared half to death. My husband claims that they cannot serve a warrant at your hour house after 9 PM. Is that true? Thanks in advance.
