My question involves landlord-tenant law in the State of: FLORIDA
My grandson moved in with a female roommate in Apr. They are roommates only--she has a boyfriend. My grandson, this woman and myself ARE ALL ON THE LEASE. I co-signed the lease as a guaranteer of credit, not as a tenant. I told him then I was not really sure about this woman but they assured me it would be great. It has slowly snowballed into a nightmare. She moved in her boyfriend(HE IS NOT on the lease) got a second dog( both with horrible fleas and not pre-approved on the lease) and then her youngest daughter came to stay for the summer and never went home and is now living there also. ALSO NOT ON THE LEASE. She has become abusive in her words and has stuck him as well--he to his credit did not return the slaps. She has taken to drinking quite a bit then trying to hang out with my son and the neighbors across the street but they have told her they no longer want her there as she has told lies and tries to make trouble between people when she has been there. So now she comes out and has screaming fits at them and tries to lock my son out of his own house. Her boyfriend does an ostrich act and ignores everything. And we have now been apprised by the neighbor she has been seen removing things that belong to my daughter(she has some things stored in my son's half of the garage) and has also helped herself to using my daughter's things without permission. My daughter plans to go there tomorrow to do a physical inventory of her things with pictures and video and to speak to this woman when she gets home about her behavior and that it will not be tolerated.
There is no record of her or her bf paying any bills--all the utilities are in my daughter's name and all of their portions of them and the rent has been paid to my son in cash since he was the only one with a bank account(although they just got one).
My grandson wants them gone but she will not leave and has threatened to turn him out or get him arrested by claiming violence on his part. I want this woman and her ilk out of that house but legally so she cannot do anything about it. Where do we start and can we have her revoked as there are 2 of us on the lease against her?
Thank you for your help and guidance in advance!
