My question involves employment and labor law for the state of: California
Hi all. I am a property manager in California. My company has a policy of paying a set commission for each lease renewal that we have tenants sign for once their original lease terms are over. This had been going on for many years, but all of a sudden we are being told by the company that lease renewals will not be paid a commission effective immediately.
We typically submit new lease renewals at the end of the month. If I already had several lease renewals signed for the month, am I legally entitled to the commissions that I would have earned on those renewals, or can the company just flat out not pay for those?
Thank you in advance for any help.
