My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: Illinois. Tonight I was pulled over and issued a seatbelt ticket. My seatbelt was secure for the whole duration of the trip. However, when I told the police officer this he responded to me by saying that I could lie as much as I want I am still getting a ticket. He then told me that he would give me the $30 ticket not the $80 one "for the holidays"
At this point I gave up and accepted the ticket. Is there anything I can do? The $30 is relatively insignificant so I am tempted to just accept this and move on. Principle on the other hand, is telling me this is not acceptable.
