Collection and Enforcement: Child's Support Order but Ncp Hasn't Paid in Over a Year- Need Motion Advice

lundi 5 janvier 2015

My question involves child support in the State of: IL

I have a child's support order as part of my divorce from Jan 2013. My self-employed ex has not paid CS at all since Oct 2013 and is in arrears of nearly $13,000. I filed with the IL Child's Support Services in August 2014, but they told me that unfortunately, since my ex is self-employed, there is not much they can do to help me collect. I went back to my divorce attorney, who told me that he could file a motion to have him possibly forced to get a job or have his drive's license taken away or other such actions to get results. The problem is that I don't have the $500-1000 it will cost to hire him to do it for me. My income is too high for legal aid or free services, but I really don't have the money to spend to hire a lawyer and I'm feeling discouraged.

Is this something I can do on pro se? I tried to research online today and signed up for a Cook County E-file account, but I was unsure of what to do next. There is the option to spindle a motion and based on my research, I know that means to request a court date, but I was afraid to go any further and do that as I wasn't sure about the next steps. Like once I spindle and get the date, how do I say what the motion is for? What forms do I need to have filled out and/or sent to my ex?

Can anyone send me in the right direction? I'd really appreciate it! :-)
