My question involves landlord-tenant law in the State of: GA
My landlord and I had an agreement that the water bill would remain in his name and that I would reimburse him for the water bills every quarter.
After moving out, he subtracted the remaining water bills from my security deposit, which included a $400 bill from the last month at which time it was discovered that there was a leak at the water meter which caused the increase usage above our average of around $80/month.
The city can reimburse for a portion of the water bill in the event of a leak, and a request has been submitted by my landlord (in September), since the bill is under his name.
I have tried to contact the landlord to see if a refund has been issued but he has not been responding. Do I have any other recourse with my landlord or the city?
