My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: North Carolina
Okay, so i got a ticket 4 days ago. (G.S 20-141(J1) I know, I am stupid. This was my FIRST and only ticket. I have learned my lesson. I am having to apply for jobs, (I'm only 17) because my parents are making me. (understood) One of the questions is "have you ever been convicted of a criminal offense?" Not really thinking, I put no. I don't have traffic court until March 16. My question is, should I have put "Yes" then explained under saying it was a speeding ticket? Or was it fine to put 'no'? I technically haven't been found guilty yet, If I'm going to be found guilty at all. (Hopefully not?) Anyways. I want advice on this. My ticket was 26 over, 71 in a 46. My excuse has been called 'silly' so I'm not going to say unless I am asked. it was a 4 lane highway with no other cars around, maybe 1 on the other side and 1 behind me. It is open country. Along with that ticket, I was *awarded* with another for C&R... everyone has said I had the strictest trooper in NC, which it was my fault i guess. Anyways, please comment with advice for Job applications, advice for court, tell me what you think I should do/say in court or what you think my offense will be. Will I lose my license? or just pay a fine? I am going to do 8 hour traffic school, but I want to know do I have to request this at court? or can I go beforehand, and take my certificate to court with me? Please don't be rude. Edit: I AM still in high school, I graduate this year.
