Starting a Business: How to Approach Possible Clients About an Anti-Shoplifting Presentation

mardi 6 janvier 2015

My question involves business law in the state of: Michigan

I would like to contact local schools and colleges about public speaking about shoplifting and how it can affect your life. High school Juniors/Seniors and College Freshmen are my targets, initially, adding freshmen/junior high schoolers if it goes well.

I have a price range in mind. I won't be raking in the bucks, but enough to make a small profit and get the message across to teens/first year college students.

And I have a way to make it "fun enough to listen to". Instead of just a bunch of bored kids listening to a Sex Ed lecture.

Why do I want to do this? I even read a Dear Abby column where a teen posted about shoplifting and how it messed up his life. And we see so many of these stories posted here. And I have been there myself, as an adult. If I can get some kids to say "you know...it aint worth it"....that's why I want to do it.

I also now have the experience of briefly working a high theft store, placing the ink tags and also being LP Greeter for a few hours.

So....how do I get this started? I assume I need to set up an LLC and separate tax profile? What kind of lawyer would I see, or as I did with my Expungment....a little research and I can do this myself? Ideally, I would love to have this up and running by April, and as inexpensively as possible.

Thanks in advance :)
