Civil Rights Issues: Corporate Civil Rights Violations at "Checked-Out" in California

vendredi 20 février 2015

My question involves civil rights in the State of: California

IF I walk away from this thread with anything, I would hope to see the law that allows this violation of my civil rights in California.

When I am shopping within a corporate store what goes into their basket is owned by them,...until I "Check-Out" and have paid for the items. Once I swipe my credit card, and items start showing on the "Check-Out" register receipt, ownership of those items become mine and so do my civil rights of that property. I own the items like I own my wallet and shoes and hat I have on my possession. They are in my ownership even though I am still standing in the "Check-Out" line. OK, everybody aboard on that point?

They call is a "Check-Out" counter because that is the point chosen by the Corporation to make the above exchange by sale. It is the point where their employee checks the items I am buying before he sells them to me and provides a convenient way for me to leave the store.

So why is it that this corporation has a second "Check-Out" checker stationed at the door who wants my receipt and wants to rummage through my private possessions that I own? IF I don't allow this illegal search of my possessions they might detain me, call security, call police, etc. I assume, further intimidating me with authority while further violating my civil rights.

And I assume the civil rights that are being violated in this second corporate "Check-Out" of my private property is my 4th Amendment Rights.

Fourth Amendment

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

IF corporations are allowed to pull this violation off, how long before they are going to want to see your wallet, or rummage through your purse and pockets, perhaps to see the credit card you used and ID to match it, etc.? How long before they demand you open your trunk on the parking lot to "Check-Out" your personal property?

So Question: What law allows this violation of my rights? Thank You~
