My question involves a traffic citation from the state of: California
I live in a suburban neighborhood. My house is located in the middle of a cul de sac, and there aren't very many places to park, so there are usually three or so cars parked vertically to the curb on one side of the cul de sac. This has been going on for years without any problems or prior warnings, so when I got my license a few months ago, my parents told me to just park my car there. However, this morning, I received a ticket for violating code 22502 (A) CVC for "restricted parallel/18 inches from curb."
I'm kind of a broke college student so I want to at least attempt to contest the ticket, any advice based on my situation? I feel like this was just a really unnecessary ticket and that this problem could have been solved effectively with a warning instead. Thank you.
Also, I can post pictures if necessary since my description is probably not great.
