Copyright Law: Extracting and Using Data from Reports

Hi All,



How do the rules/law apply to extracting and using data from reports and collateral compiled by agencies such as Forester, Gartner, Nilesen, etc?



For instance, many people use facts, statistics, data and quotes from their reports in articles both on and off line.



Would it be acceptable to extract all of the facts, statistics, data and quotes from these reports and make them available in a database?
