Job Duties: Can a Temp at a Company Change Temp Agencies

My question involves employment and labor law for the state of: Minnesota



I have been working for a healthcare company for over a year as a temp through an agency. The agency treats me terrible, balks at raising my wages even though my duties and responsibilities continue to expand. I am actually doing a lot of things that they've taken away from an employee and given me to do like creating provider contracts, etc. I would like to leave the temp agency I am currently with and go through another temp agency for this same job or even apply for a new job the healthcare company is going to be posting. Is that legal? I think the temp agency print on the timecard says I can't work there for a year after I quit with them. Don't I have a right to pursue permanent employment with the company by applying for a job there that isn't the job the temp agency sent me to do (and without going thru the temp company)? Isn't there case law on this?
