My question involves bankruptcy in the state of: WV
Filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy a week ago and included all utility bills as requested by lawyer. Was contacted by Electric company that past due has been wiped clean and need to make a deposit to start new electric service, (service was never turned off) which is great, as deposit was a fraction of what was owed. Today got a letter hand delivered to house, (I wasn't home, letter given to my 17 year old son) from water company demanding our past due amount be paid in full within 24 hours or they are going to shut off my water. Can they shut it off legally? If they do shut it off, can I sue them for it?
