My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: Washington

Hello, first time post. I really hope someone here can help me out. Last week I got a shocking bump to my insurance costs (over $1200 more a year) and I began to investigate what had happened. Long story short, I received a ticket for not having a front license plate on my vehicle about 8 months ago in February. I just paid the ticket as I was under the impression that it was a non-moving violation. Now I'm finding on my abstract driving record "illegal use of plates" and my insurance agent claims that that's an additional 4 points because it means I was driving with stolen plates or something of that nature. I've shopped around with other insurance agencies and they all say that it's just as bad as getting a DUI. I've incurred an overwhelming amount of stress over all of this and I have no idea how I'm supposed to fix this if I can even fix it at all. Any and all help is deeply appreciated.

Thanks in advance

-Cameron
