My question involves a condominium located in the State of: New Jersey
Greetings All-
In my situation the Condo Association President has appointed himself to also be the person who carries out all repairs to condo property and maintenance of the grounds.
The building is a three floor building, with four separate entrances and internal stairways which serve three units each.
Prior to my buying the unit about a year ago, the condo President had some personal issues / arguments with the person who lives above me in my section, and has told me many times
about how he hates this person and has had numerous arguments with them in the parking lot, and is trying to make their life as hard as possible using his position, etc.
Apparently due to this, our condo president has decided to leave our section of the building in a terrible state while the other section's doors, stairways and halls receive significant visual and functional maintenance / upgrades (new carpet, plaster and paint, etc).
He has gone so far as to puncture holes in the walls of our unit's stairwell under the pretense that it was needed for the plaster and painting which I am certain will never occur (It has been over a year at this point).
He also intentionally painted the front door to our section with extreme incompetence (two-inch swaths of paint around the boarder of windows and a huge unpainted square around the door knob) while all the other exterior doors are immaculately trimmed. In addition, the grounds immediately outside our entrance have become a storage place for his large ground-working tools. The ground in this location is also the only section of the entire property which has bare, torn up dirt, while all others are perfectly maintained grass.
These conditions have been present the entire year I've been here.
Is there any legal course of action I can pursue to get him to provide proper maintenance to our section of the property?
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks!
