Sex Offenses: Is Flashing a Minor in Chat Illegal

mercredi 22 octobre 2014

I was looking through a help forum and this person posted about how they flashed a minor they had been "going out" with and they took a screen cap of it w/o the adults consent. They claim said person had told them they were of legal age, but later admitted to being a minor. They have since broke up, and now a different friend is coming forth saying that unless they do something for them they will expose the adult to the cops. There is no proof persay that the extortionist has proof to give to the police. But supposedly the incident did happen. The adult who flashed is supposedly in the UK, the minor is in the US, and the extortionist is in Ireland.

They asked if they could face legal problems, and if so what could they be? I tried searching and found that some chat flashers had been charged with a felony, and labeled a sex offender. I told them that I didn't know what they could for sure face because I have no clue as this takes place in several areas.

But a lot of people acted like this is low key and not an issue and they could not get in trouble.

So I'm wondering, is it illegal? If the person they were dating turns out to be a minor and there is proof linking to the flashing, even though the picture was taken against their wishes, could the adult face charges? If so what charges could they face?
