My question involves an accident that occurred in the state of: Missouri
My husband was driving westbound on a main road, another driving was following behind him. Another car was trying to pull out of a parking lot and make a left to go eastbound on the same main road. The driver pulling out was trying to go in between my husband and the car behind him but instead t-boned my husband causing him to spin out and go into on coming traffic and then hitting another car. When the police arrived, they talked to the other drivers before talking to my husband. When the witness(the car behind my husband ) tried to give his statement the cop brushed him off so the witness gave his into to my husband for our insurance company. After the cop talked to only the people involved in the accident, he then issued my husband a ticket for failure to yield to traffic. How is this possible when the light was free, and he was not at an intersection nor making a turn. He was driving straight, that's like saying you failed to yield to traffic on the highway, no the people entering the highway are the ones who are yielding. I have yet to hear from the insurance company cuz they went to take pics of the car but the towing company wouldn't allow it until fees are paid...... Was he in the wrong and should the police have a hold on my car that is contracted through the towing company??????
