A Great Job Opportunity for an Assistant Director, Cartel Enforcement in London, Uk

jeudi 15 janvier 2015

The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) promotes competition to make markets work well for consumers, businesses and the economy. Our work is complex and compelling and can benefit the lives of everyone in the UK.

Our cartel enforcement work is high profile and presents competition, regulatory or litigation experts with a uniquely exciting opportunity to enhance and develop their expertise and experience. The portfolio is diverse, cutting across all sectors and industries and often across international borders, and we make use of both civil and criminal law powers in our cases.

Assistant Directors in the civil cartel enforcement team play a key role in managing case teams (generally comprising a mix of legal, investigative and casework specialists). You can expect a blend of both operational and strategic responsibilities, fulfilling a key liaison role at the frontline of investigations as well as contributing to overall policy and strategic direction of the cartel function. This is a rare opportunity to play a leading role in a world-leading competition authority, where you can champion the best interests of consumers and find a great platform for your career working in a supportive and collegiate team environment.

We expect that you will be degree educated (2:1 or better) and that you will have significant knowledge and experience in one of competition law, regulatory law and casework, or complex litigation and be a qualified lawyer or be able to demonstrate equivalent drafting, analysis and communication skills. You will have overall responsibility for the quality of casework on your team and others will look to you for support, direction and coaching, so effective people management skills will be key.

In addition to a competitive salary the CMA also offers generous other benefits like a choice of two excellent Civil Service pension schemes, 30 days annual leave, favourable consideration of flexible working options as well as generous maternity/paternity leave provision in excess of statutory requirements.
