My question involves a child custody case from the State of: Texas
This forum helped me regarding me when I sought out advice regarding parenting my son and legalities of dealing with his father. I figured I would come back and seek advice on a different matter and praying it'll get us some much needed help.
My husband has a six year old daughter with his ex wife and she is currently undergoing cancer treatments. We do not get along and long story short she plays tit for tat games and quite frankly I'm tired of it.
My husband and I would like to seek a better means of communication because we would like updates on how his daughters treatments are going and how she is. We barely hear from her mother and when asked about treatments she simply gives us a "she's fine" answer. She constantly text messages my husband over nonsense such as asking my husband to come to Texas to take their daughter to treatments because she needs a break from her, asking us to take her daughter, tells my husband to pay a portion of trials that she isn't paying anything on because their insurance covers it but she would like to be reimbursed for her time, constantly threats to call her lawyer on my husband because he doesn't want to call her when she wants him to call so she could argue about crazy things like $17 prescriptions that she has to pay for, etc.
I sympathize for what she as a mother has to go through. She is remarried and has another child. But she constantly wants my husband to call her to console her and wants sympathy for taking care of her daughter which I believe as a mother you shouldn't seek attention for having to take responsibility for your child no matter their health.
We've looked into Family Wizard and have asked her to look into it as well so we could eliminate the back and forth and make this strictly about their daughter because she needs all the support and love she can get. Their divorce was filed in Hawaii. Should she decline using Family Wizard, what are steps we can take to go forward with Family Wizard? Thank you for your help!
