My question involves juvenile law in the State of: indiana
So I'm currently 16 and im graduating as a junior next year. My parents have already told me if I refuse to live with them throughout college they will not pay for my tuition. I didn't know this until recently, because they have always known I was planning on moving out and paying for living expenses so I haven't been saving up as much as I should. So now I wish to get emancipated as soon as I graduate(May) instead of waiting until I'm 18(January). My plan is to get a living areangement set up to where I would rent an apartment with a good friend and get a higher paying job than I have now before applying for emancipation. I would work for a year to save up for college rather than being forced to go to college for half a year before moving out in the winter. In order to be able to move out I would need to be emancipated since my parents won't allow me to move out. I definitely feel like this is the only option I have, especially since being emancipated would make me an independent for the FAFSA and I would be able to get more student loans that I would not otherwise qualify for since my parents income is too high. Would I be able to get emancipated in my situation?
