My question involves judgment recovery in the State of:FL
My gf has a final judgment issued for old credit card debt. This was through a 3rd party debt collector. She was never served. The attorney went through a process where they serve the state. She doesn't even live in the city or county where they were trying to serve her and where the court proceedings took place. Unfortunately, they garnished her bank account and reopened the case. They are asking for additional fees for the garnishment (attorney fees, etc.) Can I have the case moved to my location? What is the process? Can I send a letter to the court stating that I was never properly served and do not reside in the county the case is being handled in?
