Speeding Tickets: Aircraft in Bellingham, Wa

lundi 19 janvier 2015

My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: Washington

I was driving up I-5 when I'm pulled over going 60-65. I'm told an aircraft spotted me and tracked me going 74 in a 60 (there are plenty of 70MPH areas just before). I was moving with the flow of traffic and the cop said "I don't know what to tell you, we've been handing out a lot of these today from 70-75".

Either way, on the ticket "SMD" is checked, not "aircraft". I was 100% NOT speeding when he pulled me over. Is this enough to contest it by mail and win?

1. I live in Seattle and am 100% not driving up there (2 hour drive) for court.

2. I would rather not waste a deferral on this if it's easy to win.

3. I would rather be safe than sorry and get it off my record

I've read of prosecuters knocking it down to a 90$ parking infraction (would definitely take that) if the person is from out of town, but I don't know what my best option is. I've already killed 9 of my 15 days. Advice?
