My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: California (Bellflower)
Hello everyone, I recently got a speeding ticket on the 605-S fwy.
Before I go into any details when will the point show up on my record? I plan on continuing with the "trial by declaration," etc. but I would like to know when the point actually goes into effect. Does it only appear a period after I finish the trials (TD/TDN)? Or does it appear right after the "court appearance date?"
Now to the details, on my way to school I was stuck behind a 2 hour grid lock on the 605-S (clearing accident) in the early morning and I was behind several people on lane 1. Once the accident was cleared I matched the speed of the surrounding cars (roughly 70). At this point I turned on cruise control as everyone's speed was fairly constant. After I passed slauson(sp?) I was flagged to pull off by a CHP officer. I know did apologize for going a bit fast after he said that I was (never past 70/75) and I was on my best behavior. On the ticket he wrote down that I was doing 80 and he has "mvar" checked off, the citation was 22349a. I can't really read the rest of his writing because it's pretty messy.
Does anyone have any experiences with the Bellflower court? I've only gotten a parking ticket before so I'm not sure 100% how to go about this. Should I go through with the declaration? Should I attempt to ask for a fee reduction in court? Or should I cut my losses and just pay the fine?
And my final question. What amount would I be expecting for the fine to be around? I keep seeing differing values but I'm assuming $234 (+some amount for traffic school fees) is correct?
Thanks in advance!
