My question involves traffic court in the State of: California, Contra Costa County Superior Court.
Hey there, I received a ticket (infraction) for possession of marijuana Ca Health & Safety Code 11357b. and I had a few questions. I am a JUVENILE
So the law states: As of January 1, 2011, possession of one ounce (28.5 gms) or less of marijuana is an infraction, punishable by a maximum $100 fine (plus fees) with no criminal record under Ca Health & Safety Code 11357b. With added fees, the cost can be as high as $485.
1) What are these fees? and what dictates whether they are or aren't imposed?
2) Since I am a Juvenile do I HAVE TO serve my punishment with community service or can I opt to pay?
3) How many hours of community service equates to $100
4) My friend received this same ticket and the judge made him attend 2 drug classes which cost $350. Is there any way to avoid going to these classes?
THANK YOU!!
